Hey guys,
This page will work to serve as a source for discussions--plus anything else of interest-- that will be talked about at our meetings as well as a forum where we post up topics and you can respond, straight from your computer. Our meetings are held in room 3215, on fridays at 1pm. If there are any questions please don't hesitate to message us and we'll respond as quick as possible. I hope this will grow into a thriving community where we can have powerful discussions. However it won't be possible without your participation, so I encourage you to be active.

ReplyDeleteIt went great I think. Not a lot of people but a fair amount.
ReplyDeleteWe discussed all the ideas that people had of where they'd like the direction of the club. As in, discussing topics is interesting no doubt, but we'd also like to affect the community as we continue.
AS much as we'd like to hear and learn from each other, we don't want to make it just about talking...well at least thats what i got from our first meeting.
We'll have debates, discussions, continue on topics talked in class, and we want to impact our community making Phiclub>AllotherClubs xD
I have class on the days of the meetings, so I can only participate online....

I'm currently having issues with transportation. Since the President is out of town I think we should meet next week.
ReplyDeleteFor now, can everyone give me 2 sets of time for wednesday and friday, in which you can make it out. This will allow me to get a better idea as to what days most people would be able to participate.
I apologize for the lack of order in the club at the moment, we'll get on point this up coming week.

ReplyDeleteIt's getting difficult to think of material that we can discuss about that hasn't already been concluded so to speak.
ReplyDeleteI guess some topics are Iran and their nuclear development program. What should the US do? Attack, Threaten or Hear their point of view.
Not sure if you are all into politics. Im not too knowledged in that.
or Discuss of a way to change habits of people. And then ways to use this plan to change people's diet. Or defensiveness when confronted.
If you want to argue/debate. Talk on Whether or not the School should Implement a Uniform rule.
The idea of people who were sandles tend to be more careless or unmotivated. Setting this responsiblity might increase people's discipline.

ReplyDeleteI think there is some confusion between the hours on Friday. Some of us understood noon and some understood 1pm.
All and all, I think Fridays are just a bad day to meet up.
How does everyone feel about Tuesdays?
And at what time.
Because I (Roberto) am having a hard time making it on time on Fridays, mainly because I live really far away and because I stay up late thursdays editing stories for the paper.
If we can do tuesdays, that would be awesome.
tuesday just requires me to go to school on a day with no classes but it gives me a reason to go to the gym right after!
